Joel Grey Uses His Camera Phone For Making Art, Not Sexting

spaceball2Cell phone cameras.  Not just for taking pictures of your junk to send when you’re sexy texting.  (Or at least not only.)  Those low-grade images can also be art.  Diminutive actor and photo hobbyist Joel Grey has just published a book of of such snaps:  1.3: Images from My Phone.   Via the Book Bench:  “The project began about two years ago, when Grey was in Florida performing his one-man show. One day, he wandered into a museum dedicated to the singer Frances Langford. ‘I saw some things that I wanted to photograph, but I had forgotten my camera for the first time,’ he said. So he took out his Nokia phone—’the lowliest you can possibly imagine’—and started snapping away.”

No one asked Grey his opinion on sexting, alas.  [image via]
