Picture Pages: The Falcon Cannot Hear the Falconer

Alternate post title: Bird Brains

In exchange for his promise to sell their government millions of dollars worth of “smart bomb” technology, the Saudis induldged in Bush’s fantasy to reenact scenes from his favorite movie, The Beastmaster.

Best sentence from the WaPo article covering his trip: “Bush, who dislikes late nights, stayed up well past his regular 9:30 p.m. bedtime for after-dinner talks with the king in the walled compound of his opulent palace.” O RLY?! And did they tell ghost stories later and then sneak down to the kitchen for cookies and milk? Huh? Huh? Breath? Bated.

    No no no…see Bush is a Christian and very stuck in his ways therefore he probably doesn’t believe in ghosts. It was probably long talks about what kind of television shows and video games should be banned next!

  2. ephemerist says:

    @spectralalliance…okay, no ghosts. Pillow fights though? Blanket fort? I vote blanket fort.

  3. spectralalliance says:

    Blanket fort..absolutely!

  4. ephemerist says:

    @spec: also maybe shadow puppets?

  5. Shadow puppets of falcons. In the blanket fort. And they don’t let Laura in — no girls allowed.

    Well, the Beastmaster was hands-down my fave childhood movie. Come on, those adorable ferrets? And Beastmaster’s guns probably inspired my love of biceps to this day.

    It looks like me and the Prez have something in common after all. yea.

    @Sarah Belle: Maybe if Bush had adorable ferrets his approval rating would be higher? Something to ponder.
