While waiting for my “Kiki & Herb” DVD to ship, which has been delayed until the 15th in order to “give the two performers some extra time to focus on making final cuts” or so sayeth the email I received, I must make do with this clip from said DVD, wherein the boozesome twosome perform “The Rhythm Divine.”
I should write about Kiki and Herb’s “Second Coming” at Carnegie Hall on Wednesday, but as I was doped on cold medicine and trying to only cough during the applause breaks, I’m not the best chronicler of how the night played out. However, David Rooney’s review for Varietyis fairly spot on, if memory serves. Or you can read NY mag’s take here. As for me, I’m just going to fix another hot toddy and try to carry on. Suffice it to say, it really isn’t Christmas in New York for me without a Kiki and Herb show. It’s a tradition I was glad to be able to partake in again.
Okay, so, tickets are available for Kiki & Herb: The Second Coming, the Christmas concert/return engagement at Carnegie Hall. For reservations click here. Don’t wait on this, it’ll definitely sell out. And what better way to prep for the holidays than an evening with boozy chantoozie Kiki and her gay-Jew-tard pianist Herb? It’s like Christmas and Hanukkah all rolled into one! With blasphemy! Buy now.
Just in time for the holidays! According to a recently published MySpace bulletin, Kiki and Herb’s return engagement at Carnegie Hall, “The Second Coming,” will be happening on December 12th. Details on tickets and whatnot are still forthcoming. After the last time, where I remarked to my sister that “every famous fag below 14th Street is here” (and seriously, they were), I can only imagine the turnout for this show.
For a taste of what may be in store, here’s the sodden duo — in an admittedly janky YouTube video– performing their perennial favorite “Smells Like Reindeer Spirit.”
Oh that iCurt. First he cuddles up with Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters, now he’s snagged an interview with Justin Bond, aka boozy chantoozy Kiki of Kiki & Herb. Totally worth watching for the announcement that K&H will be returning to Carnegie Hall (the Second Coming!) in December. Did we know this? I did not know this. Ohmahgah! What a nice Christmas present. Also, Justin Bond is a Taurus.
