So, the second cinematic incarnation of Jay McInerney’s Bright, Lights Big City, to be helmed by teevee wonder Josh Schwartz, is ditching the ’80s trappings and will instead take place circa 2007. Which, I guess, whatever. It is just as easy I suppose to ignore text messages and voicemails as it was answering machine messages and landlines while self-destructing. Maybe they should release it at the same time as Wall Street 2 and we can doubly hate on the impulses to excess of our current decade.
(Also: does this then edge up the odds of seeing the Chace Crawford/Ed Westwick combo I proffered in my speculative casting session?) [NYM/Daily Intel]
